SERVICES

You are welcome to join us on any Sunday with our worship service beginning at 10:30 am through to 11:30 am.  We sing a mixture of songs and hymns during the service, with the Wallaroo Worship Voices bringing an item.  On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate Holy Communion.   We get together for morning tea before the service and sometimes we have a cuppa after the service as well.   Wallaroo UC is a comfortable setting making it easier to explore our faith, our understanding and belief in God. We are an older group of people with no thoughts of slowing down – all are welcome to attend.  Physical distancing and Covid Safe rules apply.

WE ARE THE UNITING CHURCH

The Uniting Church SA seeks to be an innovative, growing church proclaiming Jesus Christ, empowered by the Spirit to transform God’s world. Read More.

The Uniting Church is a young church – formed on 22 June 1977, when the Congregational, Methodist, and Presbyterian Churches united to become one. The Basis of Union is the document which affirms our Christian faith and is the guide to what is central to the life of the Uniting Church in Australia. Read the Basis of Union here.

HISTORY

The Wallaroo Uniting Church has a long history within this local community.  In 1977 the Congregational Church on Elizabeth St, the Methodist Church on Stirling St and the Presbyterian Church on our current site merged to become a part of the Uniting Church.  This church building opened in 1978.  The beautiful paneled stained-glass windows you see in the church are from the original Presbyterian church.  Soft padded chairs have replaced the hard-wooden pews along with air-conditioning makes the services comfortable in any weather.  During 2018 we added a wheelchair access bathroom and new kitchen.
