COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Fellowship Group

Wallaroo Uniting Church Fellowship meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm at the church.  We have recently celebrated our 41st birthday with luncheon at the local hotel.  Although we are an aging group, we would welcome any new members.  Our program varies from year to year.  In 2017 we have arranged speakers on a variety of topics including JP on End of Life documentation; Community Transport scheme; Ps Linda Forsyth on Kairos Outside for Women; Rob Kutcher and his woodwork crafts.   Each year we hold the Biggest Morning Tea and Pancake Day at Wallaroo Primary School.  If you or another woman is looking for a community group to join, please contact us.

Craft Group

The Wallaroo Craft Group meets in the church hall every Monday from 9.30-11.30am during school terms (excluding public holidays). Everyone is welcome to bring along a craft activity and join in this time of fun and fellowship.  Sometimes we do more talking and laughing than craft, however, we enjoy the friendship this group brings.  Each member contributes $2.00 per week going towards tea, coffee and biscuits.

For more information, please contact Elizabeth Bradley on (08) 8823 2427.

Op Shop

In conjunction with Uniting Care Copper Triangle, the Op Shop is our major outreach to the community.  We sell low cost quality pre-loved clothing, household linen and curtains.  Our volunteers are invaluable.  They love a chat and are a wealth of information about the local community.  If you have any good quality second hand clothing or non-electrical goods, they can be left at the Op Shop during open hours are 1.30 – 3.30 Monday to Friday, Saturday 9.30 –11.30 or in the donation Bin.

Garage Sales

These are our major fundraisers going towards upkeep and general expenses of the church.  You’ll find a wide variety of new and pre-loved items for all ages, including house hold items, handbags, shoes, toys and books.   A $2.50 sausage, sauce, onion and bread completes the experience.

Garage sales are held throughout the year as advertised.
